Grilled sardines and masterpieces

In the Giant cubism painters’ footsteps with Cézanne, Braque and Dufy

The smell of grilled sardines is typical from the Estaque little fishing port. However, if you have ever heard about l’Estaque, it might be because it is here that the foundations of modern art were laid, especially Cubism from 1908 to 1910, by Cézanne, Braque and Dufy.

A very special little fishing port

We will walk in these giant painters’ footsteps, possibly eat some delicious chichi frégi (kinds of doughnuts), admire the picturesque rooftops of the old village, and discover the northern part of Marseilles, the industrial one, that rose up in the middle of a white limestone hill, which gives an endless charm to the site.
