A museum dedicated to Mediterranean Culture
Afloat between sea and sky by the entrance to the Old Port of Marseille, the Museum of the European and Mediterranean Civilizations (MuCEM) is worth a visit. Never before has a museum been entirely dedicated to Mediterranean culture, offering to the visitor a complete overview of its history, civilizations and heritage. We can pleasantly visit its permanent exhibition, la Galerie de la Méditerranée, in 1h30.
During this visit, I will give you the keys to understand the major impact of the MuCEM proposal on this site, and I will comment on its terrific architecture. We will also stroll around the garden set at the top of Fort St. Jean, from which the panoramic view is simply stunning. Associated with the Villa Méditerranée and Fortress Saint Jean, The MuCEM embodies Marseilles new image, a cosmopolitan metropolis facing the Mediterranean sea.
